Tithing is a biblical principle that helps us put God first in our finances.
The word tithe simply means “tenth.” In Scripture, God invites His people to give the first 10% of their income back to Him as an act of trust and obedience. It’s a tangible way to acknowledge that everything we have comes from God—and that we rely on Him as our ultimate provider.
Giving isn’t about meeting a need God has. It’s about shaping a heart that trusts Him fully.
As the Bible reminds us:
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV)
