Be a Bringer
Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of these men who heard what John said and then followed Jesus. Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means “Christ”). Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus. Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said, “Your name is Simon, son of John—but you will be called Cephas” (which means “Peter”).
John 1:40-42 NLT
Andrew had been following John the Baptist when John identified Jesus as the Lamb of God. Andrew decided to check out Jesus and spent the day with Jesus. The next day, Andrew found his younger brother, Peter, and brought him to Jesus.
That one act of bringing his brother to Jesus started a massive chain reaction. A chain reaction is what allowed one domino to knock down hundreds and thousands of other dominos.
Because Andrew brought Peter to Jesus, Peter preached the sermon in Acts 2 on the birthday of the New Testament Church and three thousand people decided to become followers of Christ. Because Andrew brought Peter to Jesus, a man born lame who was begging at the Temple gate was suddenly healed when Peter spoke life into his swiveled muscles. Because Andrew brought Peter to Jesus, many people in the book of Acts received miracles through the ministry of Peter.
You never know the full impact of bringing someone to Jesus. Your invitation can transform not only their lives but the lives of hundreds and thousands of others.
Start a chain reaction today by extending an invitation and inviting someone to experience the presence of Jesus.
Holy Spirit, please show me who in my world I need to bring to Jesus. Show me how through words and actions I can be a bringer.
