Strength for Battle
You have armed me with strength for the battle; you have subdued my enemies under my feet.
Psalm 18:39 NLT
Here is a great thought—God has armed us with strength for the battle!
We are not hopeless or helpless. God has already placed within us everything we need for whatever battle comes against us.
Nothing can come against me that God does not allow. God will not allow something—or someone—to come against me that He doesn’t already have the provision for my victory.
God never wakes up one morning and is surprised at what I am going through. I may be surprised. I may feel overwhelmed and inadequate for the task in front of me. That morning is when I have to declare with David, “You have armed me with strength for the battle.”
We may not know where that strength is hidden. But tough times in our life reveal things inside of us we sometimes didn’t know was there.
As followers of Christ, we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us. The Holy Spirit brings with Him all the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. He also brings the gifts of Spirit. We can draw on the fruit and gifts of the Spirit to be victorious in whatever battle we are facing.
Today, we should declare, “God has armed me with strength for the battle.”
In Jesus’ name, I declare, “I am armed with strength for the battle. God has already placed within me everything I need to be victorious. The Holy Spirit is within me, and I am armed and dangerous.”
