Our Fight

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:12 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

I have to remind myself on a regular basis that I’m not fighting people or political systems. I’m not fighting sickness or poverty or racial injustice. Our fight is always against spiritual forces of evil that are trying to destroy God’s creation.

God created us to live together in harmony with God and with one another. But the enemy works overtime to drive wedges in the hearts and minds of the children of God.

Every battle is won in the spirit realm before it is manifest in the physical realm. This is why, we as a church body have committed to 21 days of prayer and fasting for Azael—a young man, 12 years old, who is battling stage four cancer. We believe God is our Healer, and we are coming against the forces of evil that are attacking Azael’s body.

I fight that same battle for many others. I have two adult friends battling cancer. I have other friends battling broken marriages. Another friend with an adult child making unbiblical choices. Another family is struggling through the pain of discovering their daughter has been abused. The list could go on and on. The point is that I know each of these battles must be won in the spiritual realm before they can be won in the physical realm.

Whatever battle you are facing today must be taken to the altar to win the battle. The Spirit can guide your words and thoughts as you lay each need before Almighty God and speak His will over them.

I don’t know how God is going to work in each area of need. I am not demanding God to do this or that. I am simply standing against the spiritual forces that are trying to interfere with God’s will. I want God’s will because His will is always best.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit, I ask You to reveal to me God’s will as I stand in prayer believing for miracles. You are my Provider, Healer, and Deliverer. You have all I need. In Jesus’ name, I rebuke the enemy that would try to interfere with Your work.
