God is in Control

Then Job replied to the Lord: “I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me.”

Job 42:1-3 NLT

In the midst of Job’s suffering, God comes and confronts him with the truth. Job is smart enough not to justify himself or make excuses. Job admits he was wrong and that God is all-powerful.

Often the hardest thing for us to do is admit that we are wrong. To accept that God is God, and we are not. He is able to do anything. God does not owe me, or you, an explanation of why He chooses what He will do.

If I understood everything God does, then I would be God. I’m definitely not God. And to be honest, I’m okay with not being God. I do not have the mental capacity to understand all things or to control all things.

Faith begins when I acknowledge there is a God, and I’m not Him. Allowing God to be God is a great place to start with our faith. Then I can go to the next step and admit He is right in all He does.

God has a plan. When I submit to His plan, I will be amazed at what He will do for me and through me.

Heavenly Father, I declare that You are God. You are in control. I yield my thoughts and desires to You. Help me to walk in agreement with You.
