Love Transforms

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

Romans 12:20-21 NLT

TODAY’S THOUGHT

Interesting thought, no one has ever become a follower of Christ because they lost an argument.

Reading some people’s social media posts, you would think they believe they can be a witness for Jesus by condemning and attacking others. I have never seen anyone respond to an attack by committing to follow Christ.

Scripture teaches us it is our love for others that will draw them to Christ. Debating or attacking has never won someone to Christ. We conquer evil by doing good. In fact, if you take the time to read the previous verses in Romans 12, you will discover all kinds of practical ways we can serve others.

Jesus told His followers that people would know they are Christians by their love. It is not our witty posts or verbal confrontations that transform people. It is our love shown in practical, biblical ways that will bring about transformation.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Holy Spirit, please help me demonstrate Your love to my world. Help me find tangible ways to serve others as a reflection of Your love.
