IDK is Okay
Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
1 Peter 3:15 NLT
Here is the scary part of witnessing for many people—what if I don’t have an answer for a question someone asks me?
There are many people who consider themselves to be intellectuals and struggle with accepting the concepts of Christianity because it doesn’t appear logical to them. Scriptures tell us that Satan works hard to blind their minds so they can’t see the truth.
While many believers may not be able to present good arguments for the reality of God and Jesus, there are many who have been blessed with the gift of explaining the gospel. It is okay to admit that you may not have all the answers. But there are resources where you can find answers.
As followers of Christ, we should expose ourselves to those who have been gifted with the ability to answer the tough questions. We can read their books or listen to their teachings on YouTube or other places. We need to be careful to go to the right sources for answers—there are some false teachers in this area.
Often, I have to admit I don’t have the answer to some questions. But I then go and search for the answer. We don’t have to know all the answers, we just need to know where to go to find them.
Holy Spirit, help me to be ready to give an answer to those who ask. Help me know where to go to find the answers.
