Ransomed

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Mark 10:45 NLT
TODAY’S THOUGHT
The use of the word “ransom” is interesting. It is a word used to reference a person who pays the price to set a slave free. Out of the kindness of their hearts, they pay the price to give a slave the right to be free from the bondage of slavery.
Jesus went to the cross as a ransom for humanity. He was willing to pay the price so that all of humanity could experience freedom. Freedom from the control of sin. Freedom from the consequences of sin. Freedom from the choices of sin.
We have a new life because of the cross. Jesus has ransomed us. We don’t have to live in fear or bondage. We can now live in a love relationship with the One Who gave Himself for us.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Today, I declare that Jesus is Lord of my life. Because of His death and resurrection, I am free from the choices, control, and consequences of sin. I choose to live in freedom. I am no longer a slave to sin.
